Pregnancy and Pilates
Prenatal Pilates in Belgrade: Private 1-on-1 Sessions
Elia Boutique Pilates Studio in Novi Beograd works with pregnant clients exclusively through private one-on-one sessions, using reformer pilates adapted to each trimester and requiring prior approval from your gynecologist. The goal of this format is not intensity, but full attention to one body at every point in the session, during a period when needs can change from week to week.
Why Only Private Sessions
At Elia, pregnant clients are never placed in group classes, no matter how small the group is. The reason is simple: during pregnancy, the body's center of gravity, breathing, posture and tolerance for certain positions can change from week to week, and those changes cannot be tracked across six people on six reformers at once.
A private format means the instructor follows every movement, adjusts spring resistance, changes an exercise mid session if something does not feel right that day, and dedicates the entire hour to one person. This is not a limitation of the offering, it is the reason this kind of work is safely possible at all.
What a Session Looks Like
A session lasts 60 minutes and takes place on the reformer, using equipment that allows controlled resistance and support through the movement, rather than free weights or sudden loading. The instructor knows the trimester in advance, along with prior exercise experience and any restrictions set by your doctor, and builds that session's program accordingly.
Exercises are chosen to support posture, breathing, pelvic stability and the strength needed to carry additional weight, while avoiding positions that are not recommended at certain stages of pregnancy, such as prolonged lying on the back in later months. Pace is always adjustable and can change from one session to the next, depending on how you feel that day.

Safety Comes First
Prenatal sessions at Elia require approval from your gynecologist. Before the first session, the pregnancy needs to be monitored with no contraindications for physical activity, and that approval is checked again during pregnancy if anything changes or if your doctor requests it.
The studio does not diagnose conditions, does not treat pregnancy related conditions, and does not promise anything about labor or postpartum recovery. What a session can offer is support for maintaining strength, mobility and posture during pregnancy, always within the limits set by your doctor.
Before booking, please let us know your trimester, any complications and any recommendations from your gynecologist, so the session can follow those instructions from the first appointment.
Price
Pregnant clients train at the regular price for private sessions, there is currently no separate package for pregnancy. A single private session costs 4,800 RSD, a package of 8 private sessions costs 36,000 RSD, and a package of 12 private sessions costs 50,000 RSD.

A private prenatal session is booked directly through WhatsApp. Let us know your trimester and your gynecologist's approval when you first reach out, so the session can be planned accordingly in advance.
Practical Information
The studio is located in Novi Beograd, at Bulevar Heroja sa Košara 8, in the West 65 building, right next to West 65 Mall and Dekatlon Novi Beograd.
Parking is available within West 65 Mall, so arriving by car is not a problem even in the later months of pregnancy.
The sauna is included in the price for all studio members, but it is generally not recommended during pregnancy without a doctor's approval, due to the rise in body temperature it causes. We suggest discussing sauna use during pregnancy directly with your gynecologist, or simply skipping it for the duration of your pregnancy.

Can I do pilates in every trimester of pregnancy?
In principle yes, with your gynecologist's approval and a session adapted to that trimester. The instructor changes exercises and positions as the pregnancy progresses, but the decision on whether exercise is safe at any given point is always up to your doctor.
Is my gynecologist's approval really required?
Yes, without exception. Prenatal sessions at Elia are never booked without prior confirmation from your gynecologist that physical activity is not contraindicated, and that approval is checked again if anything changes during pregnancy.
Is there a special package or price for pregnancy?
No, pregnant clients train at the regular price for private sessions: 4,800 RSD per session, or a package of 8 or 12 sessions at the regular rates. There is currently no package designed specifically for pregnancy.
Why aren't pregnant clients accepted into group classes?
Because a group class does not allow the instructor to track how one pregnant client's body is changing week to week, at every moment of the session. A private format is the only way the studio can offer the full attention and adjustment that pregnancy requires.
Can I use the sauna after a session during pregnancy?
We do not recommend it without explicit approval from your gynecologist, due to the rise in body temperature a sauna causes. Although the sauna is included in the price for all studio members, it is safer to skip it during pregnancy or check with your doctor first.
What if I have complications during pregnancy, such as high blood pressure or a high-risk pregnancy?
Please tell us before booking and bring a clear approval from your gynecologist specifying what is allowed. The studio does not assess medical conditions or make decisions in place of your doctor, we only adapt the session to what your doctor has approved.
